Daily games like Wordle
Finished Wordle and want another daily game? Try Waffle for rearranging words, Nerdle for arithmetic, Worldle for geography, Framed for film recognition, Clues by Sam for written logic clues, or Dungleon and Meikyu for fantasy pieces. They share a short-puzzle format, but not the same skills or rules.
We make Meikyu, one of the choices below. Compare the clues, daily limits and free options to find your next puzzle.

Keep words, change the task: Waffle
Waffle starts with letters already on the board. You swap them to form six intersecting words, using green and yellow feedback to work out where letters belong. The daily puzzle gives you 15 swaps. It suits readers who still want English vocabulary but would rather rearrange a visible set of letters than invent another opening guess.
Intersections matter: placing one letter can affect a horizontal word and a vertical word. Before swapping, check both. This makes Waffle a different choice from simply solving several separate Wordle boards. The site also has an archive; its premium modes and ad-removal benefits are separate from the standard daily game.
Keep the feedback, change what you guess
Nerdle is the number option. Dungleon and Meikyu replace letters with characters. Start here if you enjoy making a proposal, reading the response and improving the next one. These are closer to Wordle’s guessing loop than a general collection of riddles.
Change the subject: geography or movies
Worldle makes geographic knowledge useful; Framed rewards recognizing films. These are a good direction if you want the subject itself to supply the challenge. They are not substitutes for a puzzle that can be solved without outside knowledge.
Change the method: reason from written clues
Clues by Sam asks you to establish who is innocent and who is a criminal. Its instructions rule out guessing: a next step should follow logically from the clues. That is different from submitting an uncertain Wordle guess to obtain more information. It also requires reading, even though it is not a spelling game.
Want progression after today’s puzzle?
In Meikyu you arrange five slots, learn from feedback and uncover rules as you descend. A successful floor can lead straight to another floor that day; a failure receives a fresh puzzle tomorrow. Your own depth determines your challenge.
The browser version is free through floor 19, with two additional descents and three training runs per local day. On iOS, floors 1–19 are free; the one-time Abyss Pass unlocks floor 20 and beyond. The app also supports offline play and iCloud sync.
Pick one change first
For familiar words with a different task, start with Waffle. If you enjoy Wordle but want fewer vocabulary demands, follow the wordless-games guide. If you enjoyed Dungleon’s residents and hidden relationships, use the focused Dungleon comparison. You can try Meikyu directly in the browser before deciding whether offline play and a deeper iOS descent appeal to you.
Questions
Which daily games like Wordle use no word list?
Nerdle uses arithmetic; Dungleon and Meikyu use character pieces. Worldle and Framed also avoid word lists, but require geography or film knowledge and names.
Are all daily puzzle extras free?
No. A free daily puzzle does not mean every archive or additional mode is free. Clues by Sam offers paid puzzle packs. Meikyu’s iOS Abyss Pass is a one-time purchase for floor 20 and beyond; its browser version stops at floor 19.
